Stab threat victim ‘feels let down’

-

A WHITE Nottingham man was left “stunned” after he was racially abused and threatened with being stabbed by another white man in a Nottingham park.

Phil Storer (pictured), 61, from Mapperley, was in Woodthorpe Grange Park when he noticed a woman being threatened and abused. He and another man went to confront the abuser, who then started racially abusing them and spat on them. Phil was then told by the abuser he’d wait for him in an alleyway.

He was then abused further on a narrow alleyway, where he was pushed and threatened with being stabbed. Phil says the incident caused him a lot of stress and he has altered his movements while walking his dogs.

He explained: “I can get called all the names under the sun, I don’t care as long as I don’t get stabbed. I can walk away from some verbal abuse but I might not be able to walk away from someone with a knife in my stomach.”

Phil is also unhappy with the way police dealt with the incident on Tuesday, February 20, saying claiming there was “some real apathy”.

He says that even though he provided the police with clear footage of the abuser, his issue has not been dealt with satisfactorily.

“When I was walking my dogs exactly a week after the initial incident, I saw the man at the park again and took a video of him. He looked at me so mad and I just stood there because I wanted to get a good shot of him. He tried putting his hood up but it was too late because I’d already captured his face.

“I feel totally let down by the police .” Nottinghamshire Police has been approached for comment but did not response in time for publication.
