‘Thank you, ducky’ says mum to judge as he frees son
THE clapping mother of a Nottingham criminal said “thank you, ducky” to a judge when he freed her son.
Judge Stuart Rafferty’s 12-month prison sentence for Stone Williams meant he was immediately released.
In response, Judge Rafferty retorted: “It’s ‘your honour,’ I think.”
As father-of-two Williams, 27, of Hilcot Drive, Aspley, has already been in jail for seven months, he hadserved his time.
The judge told him: “You may not appreciate it but you have a problem and unless you seek help with that problem it is going to cause you problems because ultimately you will get back into trouble if you don’t.”
Mark Achurch, prosecuting, said the first offence happened at a shop called Weston Motorcycles, in Weston-super-mare on August 25, 2021. Williams and a second man wanted to try out a bike and staff refused.
Another customer, who works as a security guard, went over while Williams was revving one of the bikes. Mr Achurch said: “The other man began to make threats to him and so he took him down to effectively carry out a citizen’s arrest.
“While he did so this defendant came up behind him and got him in a choke hold. The other man pulled out an aerosol can and a lighter and attempted to light the spray but fortunately for all that did not happen.
“Mr Williams then punched the victim to the ear around three times which left him with a laceration and required stitches at A&E.”
Williams was then stopped in Nottingham on September 28 last year with a baton in his waistband and a small amount of cannabis.
Williams pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis. He has 18 previous court appearances for 32 offences.
