Fun for family as Gloworm Festival blasts back!

-

CHILDHOOD favourites are set to deliver a “top weekend” at a Nottinghamshire festival this summer.

Gloworm Festival is returning to Holme Pierrepont Country Park this summer.

It’s the eighth version of the children’s entertainment festival and will feature Cbeebies stars Maddie Moate, Nigel Clarke and Andy Day, as well as Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, the Gruffalo, Bing and Flop, Care Bears and many more.

Bedtime Stories with Maddie and Nigel has been lined up for the children, along with more celebrity guests yet to be revealed. Mr Blobby is returning with more mayhem, and good vibes only come from the lovely Care Bears.

The Gruffalo will also be dropping in on the Organix Big Picnic, and will carry out meet and greets with families throughout the day.

The organic food brand will bring along samples, stage performances, arts and crafts and face painting too.

Live music will feature loads of the biggest pop tunes and indie classics of the last few decades from tribute acts playing homage to Taylor Swift, Oasis, Spice Girls and Take That.

An abundance of activities will also be available throughout the weekend, both on and off the water.

Guests are invited to check out the mini Land Rover, mini golf, the Sky Trail, Lagoon Wipeout, kayaking and archery, all of which are included in the admission price.

Gloworm event organiser Rebecca Mcglone said: “At Gloworm Festival, we’re committed to inclusivity, and we believe every child should have the opportunity to enjoy the full festival experience.

“Engaging in creative play nurtures children’s development and boosts their confidence, and we hope that the workshops we have on offer in this area will support the mental health of all children.

“Not only do our wellbeing activities enhance the event for families with SEND children, but they also provide a chance for families to connect with support organisations, who can provide them with the tools needed to help their children navigate their mental health in a world that can feel a little worrying at times.”

Tickets are available for the whole weekend, as well as for each day, with on site camping packages now running “very low”, according to organisers.

Day tickets are £35 (child) and £45 (adult). A family weekend ticket = (under twos free) is £300. The event will run from Friday, August 16, until Sunday, August 18.
