Hottest local artists at free music festival which will help homeless

NEW Current Festival - a free one-day music festival - is heading to Nottingham on Sunday.

With the tagline ‘Freshly squeezed and locally sourced’, the event will feature some of the hottest artists from the East Midlands.

Organised and delivered by Confetti Institute of Creative Technologi­es and Trent Navigation Inn, festival-goers can expect DJ sets, live performanc­es and lots more. Running from 1pm to 10pm, the event will take place at The Big Shed at Trent Navigation Inn on Meadow Lane, Nottingham; an outdoor space with undercover seating and dedicated bars serving a wide range drinks and food.

Although entry is free, booking is essential via ticketsour­ces.

All money raised on the day will be donated to Emmanuel House; a local, independen­t charity, establishe­d to battle against homelessne­ss in Nottingham.

Headline Acts are LYVIA, Midnight Rodeo and Cappo.

Lyvia is a Modern RNB artist who has absolutely exploded onto the national stage and developed a huge following. They recently sold out a headline show in London, and continue to grow with no sign of stopping.

Midnight Rodeo are a psychedeli­c art-pop sextet making big waves and touring nationwide. They recently released a new single, Thank You For Your Time.

Cappo is Nottingham hip-hop royalty, and a fixture on the scene for over 20 years. His is fresh off his new album, Canon, and a lyrical tour de force. The line-up also includes: Goodgoodby­e, Sancho Panza, Cam Mannix, Set In Motion, Courtney, and Luna and the Lime Slices.

Official DJ for the festival is Harry Grant, and compere is rapper and producer, Cali Green.

There is an 18+ age restrictio­n. Tickets are free via ticketsour­ce. co.uk and doors are open 1pm 10pm.
