NOTTINGHAMSHIRE is full of amazing properties, and with the summer holidays fast approaching, we have picked out some of the best historic buildings you can stay in across the county.

From fine country houses to grand converted barns, there is something for everyone.

You may even recognise some of these from television, with one appearing on BBC’S Escape to the Country and another the setting for the 2018 Bargain Hunt Christmas special. Here are seven of our favourite historic houses on Airbnb:

The Agent’s House, Century House, Thoresby Park Estate

There is something for everyone at Thoresby Park, from beautiful countryside and museums to the historic Sherwood Forest on your doorstep.

Located within a private estate estate is The Agent’s House, which was built in 1900.

The property has been recently refurbished and boasts an elevated positon in the area with large gardens and stunning views.

The Airbnb site costs from £427 a night, and is made up of 10 beds across six bedrooms.

In the downstairs area there are two large lounge areas with televisions and Netflix, as well as a modern kitchen, a dining room for up to 12 people, and a utility room.

Upstairs there is a bridal suite bedroom with a dressed four poster king size bed, as well as three bedrooms with twin beds, one with a triple bunk bed and one with a double bed. There is parking for six cars at the estate, as well as a nearby hotel which has a leisure centre and spa, which guests receive a special discount to use.

The Stables, rural B&B near Newark Showground

If you are looking for more of an unusual stay, the Stables is an Airbnb stay in the grounds of a Grade II listed barn conversion.

The barn was converted around 20 years ago by the family. Guests will have access to their own private room and en-suite above the tack room in a stable block, where there is a television and wi-fi.

There are also facilities for hot drinks and breakfast items, which could be enjoyed in the room or out in the courtyard if it’s sunny.

Langford is a small village in a quiet rural area. However, it is only five minutes from the A1 and the Newark Showground, where events take place all year round.

Charming 18th Century Georgian barn conversion

From just £58 a night you can stay at Manor Cottage Barn in the quiet village of Averham, near Newark.

The barn itself is an 18th century chapel and barn combined, which was fully restored in the 1990s.

There are two large rooms inside, one is a lounge area and the other is a small workshop area. There is also a bedroom, kitchen, dining area and bathroom. The site is also close to Southwell, known for its Minster.

Located in Normanton on Trent is a beautifully converted 18th-century cart shack which is set in the private garden of Church Corner Cottage.

The building has been fully modernised and guests will be assured a first class service during their stay.

The cottage is also opposite an annexe that featured on the BBC’S Escape to the Country. There is secure parking for one car on the grounds of the property, as well as plenty of on-street parking.
