Something for everyone at the Nottinghamshire County Show

-

THE annual Nottinghamshire County Show returns on Saturday with a huge range of events taking place throughout the day.

From motorcycles and gun dog displays in the main ring, to equine and livestock competitions, there will be something for everyone at Newark Showground.

There will be a countryside area full of activities, workshops, displays and a family dog show. This includes furry visitors from White Post Farm coming to say hello, offering a great chance to meet the mini donkeys.

Since the pandemic, which caused the show to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021, the organisers have

focused more on animals and outdoor pursuits.

So whether you have a goat or pig, a horse or dog, why not enter them in one of the many competitions set to take place?

The Festival of Food will also be taking place, so you can get your taste buds tingling with tastes of the countryside from independent producers across the region.

However, if you really want to indulge you could book one of the afternoon teas available, which includes a box full of handmade treats for two people to enjoy.

There will also be stalls from various artists, charities and clothing companies on the day.

In the Lady Eastwood Centre there will be an area for families to have a go at planting and growing, while in the Community

Zone there will be bands and musicians to entertain visitors.

With so much going on, the event is like no other, and is a great chance to experience the best of farming, countryside and rural life in Nottinghamshire.

This year’s event will also see a Nottinghamshire family debut their Highland Cattle at the show for the first time. Another good thing about this year’s show is that all children under the age of 17 will be able to attend for free.

Dogs will also be free to take along but must be kept on short non-retractable leads. Free parking is also available.
