Ladies’ Day returns to racecourse with prizes for most stylish guests

MAKE sure to grab your fascinator­s and best pair of heels as Ladies Day returns to Nottingham Racecourse this weekend.

The annual event is at Colwick Park on Saturday, with the gates opening at 11.45am.

The first race will be held at 1.45pm and the final race is at 5.15pm, however the party will continue with musical entertainm­ent courtesy of DJ & Sax, Afternoon Ibiza Classics then Après Racing DJ Set. This year’s event will also feature the popular Style Awards.

It celebrates Nottingham­shire’s finest-dressed attendees and provides guests the perfect occasion to dress up and showcase their style. The awards this year are being staged in partnershi­p with Visit Nottingham­shire, and are open to all racegoers over the age of 18 and are free to enter at the racecourse between 11.45am–3.15pm.

Judges will be scouting for the best-dressed attendees throughout the day, and the winners and runners-up of the Style Awards will be presented with their prizes during the Style Awards Presentati­on at 4.15 pm, prior to the final two races.

Some of the prizes on offer include, Girls Aloud tickets at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena, 4 Tickets to Castle Rock Brewery’s Yard Party and Afternoon Tea at Thoresby Park.

Rachel Squires, general manager of Nottingham Racecourse, said: “Ladies’ Day is one our biggest and best days of the year here at Nottingham and we are already sold out in the Premier Enclosure. This year’s Ladies Day coincides with the Eurovision Song Contest which could provide some sartorial inspiratio­n!

“There are some fabulous prizes on offer and with a DJ set after racing the party continues well into the evening. I would like extend our thanks to all sponsors and supporters for their generous support.”
