H&M opens new store in Victoria Centre after move from Lister Gate

-

H&M has opened a new store in the Victoria Centre with fashion and a dedicated homeware range including cushions, crockery, candles and towels. It replaces the Lister Gate shop which closed at the end of April.

Hundreds queued for the opening in the former Topshop unit on the ground floor. Patrick Clark, 48, from Nottingham, found himself at the front of the queue. He said: “I was looking in the window and everyone started queuing behind me. I think people were lurking waiting for someone to start the queue.

“There’s a good variety of clothes and there’s 20 per cent off. I’m going on holiday in a few weeks and I need a few bits, T-shirts and shorts. This is the third H&M I have seen in Nottingham. There used to be one in Victoria Centre years ago.”

Alice Stewart, H&M communications specialist, said: “It’s great for us to be here among a lot of other retailers. The centre said there’s been a bit of a lack of womenswear and women’s fashions so it’s really exciting we can add to that offering and be a part of this amazing centre.

“This was definitely the right move for us to get our new vision to come to life in this space. We now have H&M Home here which is very exciting. It’s one of our biggest concept brands.

“We have a new selection of womenswear, menswear, kidswear, accessories and our beauty concept line as well. This is our fourth opening this year in the UK so it’s really nice to make sure we’re continually giving not just London stores but our wider town centre stores the love they need to make sure they’re offering the best.”
