Justin Bieber fears

Fans are deeply worried about pop star Justin Bieber’s health

Now (UK) - - COME ON IN... -

When a recent video emerged of Justin Bieber, 24, violently shaking and twitching while greeting fans, it’s no surprise people started to worry.

Although we continue to see the damage monumental fame can have on celebs’ mental health – we often overlook the physical implications it has.

‘Fame is seductive – it promises to rid you of your problems and bring you happiness, before it gets unbearably exposing and incredibly lonely,’ warns psychotherapist Audrey Stephenson (atthepractice.com). ‘The reality is, that outrageous talent or incredible hard work are no preparation for stable mental and physical health – both of which are inextricably linked,’ she adds.

So how can extreme fame affect stars’ physical health?

‘Stress, through our nervous system, has an impact on every system in the body. We know that a certain level of distress will impact our immune system for several days at a time. It’s a shame that we often see physical conditions, disorders and diseases as weaknesses – and people will try to keep these things hidden, adding to a sense of shame and disconnection.’

And we, the public, need to bear in mind that celebrities are as human as you and I.
