Currently playing desperately ill Sinead in Coronation Street, Katie, 25, reveals more about Sinead’s story (see previous page) and what’s happening in Weatherfield this week...

How’s Sinead been coping since the cancer diagnosis?

She’s struggling because she is worried about her unborn child and debating whether to have chemo or not. She isn’t coping well at all.

How is Daniel and Sinead’s relationship now?

They love each other dearly, but Sinead feels Daniel still has a lot of resentment because she kept her cancer diagnosis from him in the first place. And she’s still keeping a huge secret from him...

Now Daniel knows the truth about her diagnosis, has it made it easier for Sinead?

It has given her some relief, but she’s now more worried about her unborn child. She feels she can’t talk to him about her cancer because he just wants her to be better, while she wants safety for her baby.

How does Sinead feel when she finds out Ken is the one paying for her therapy?

At first she’s shocked, but it’s a nice moment for Sinead too because she realises she has people around her who care. But it’s another secret she must keep from Daniel, who thinks Carla has been paying.

What happens when Daniel comes to collect Sinead for her chemo appointment?

She feels suffocated that everyone’s trying to tell her what to do and mollycoddling her, so she just snaps.

How do you think Sinead would feel if her secret was revealed?

I think she would be mortified, but in a way, I think it will be a huge relief for her. She’s scared to tell Daniel, but I think deep down she wants him to know so they can sort it out. She’s confused though, she wants to focus on her child’s safety first. I think it’s the conversation she would have to have with Daniel that scares her.

Daniel (Rob Mallard) is bound to discover the truth eventually
