Most famous daughter to be remembered over weekend

-

NUNEATON’S most famous daughter during a weekend dedicated to her memory and works.

The George Eliot Fellowship is hosting a series of events this Bank Holiday.

They celebrate the works of George Eliot, the author who put the town on the global map.

The fellowship is dedicated to keeping the legacy of the author alive, including creating a visitor centre where she grew up.

This weekend will see a special tour take place, taking in areas where she lived or was inspired to feature in her novels.

The George Eliot weekend 2024 will run from Saturday (May 25) until Bank Holiday Monday (May 27).
