VINTAGE OK! KYM MARSH AND POLLY
Kym Marsh has lots to be excited about. Not only is the 42 year old venturing beyond the cobbles to spread her wings, she’s also preparing to become a grandma when her daughter Emilie, 21, gives birth next month – plus she’s just celebrated her youngest Polly’s eighth birthday.
When OK! chatted to Kym at an exclusive shoot back in 2013, Polly – her daughter with former husband Jamie Lomas – was in the throes of the terrible twos. ‘We have the tantrums, the refusal to eat,’ Kym revealed. ‘We’ve also had some hair pulling, which I had to nip in the bud!’
But the Corrie star told us she wouldn’t have had it any other way, saying: ‘She’s my baby. I see how quickly David and Emilie have grown up; you blink and you miss it.’
Kym confided how losing her newborn son, Archie, and her difficult pregnancy with
Polly – during which she was on bed rest for three months – made her little girl even more cherished: ‘She’s a very special kid and I think that’s because she was almost not with us. I can’t imagine my life without her.’
Kym and Hollyoaks actor Jamie were still together at the time of our interview, though they were on the rocks and questions about the pair were off limits – they split a few months later. The actress is now happily loved up with her boyfriend of nearly a year, Scott Ratcliff.
Family has always come first for Kym and she told us: ‘I’m really lucky. I’ve got three brilliant children. We love all of our kids equally but Polly is very special to all of us, including David and Emilie.
