JAMIE LAING TALKS LOVE

JAMIE LAING TALKS LOVE WITH ok!’s KATIE LANGFORD-FOSTER

-

The new kids on the block in SW3 are definitely not holding back. But after eight years starring in Made In Chelsea, it would take more than a few fresh faces to ruffle Jamie Laing’s feathers. The 30 year old tells OK!: ‘I’m not intimidated – I think they’re great!’

The resident joker of the reality show has had his fair share of drama, but is now happily loved up with 20-year-old model Heloise Agostinelli. The couple, who have been dating for a year, don’t currently live together but he affectionately refers to her as Ell.

Here, Jamie tells OK! the secret to a happy relationship, hanging out with pal Spencer Matthews and what he and Leonardo Dicaprio have in common…

How are things with Ell?

She’s the best. She’s the sweetest person I’ve ever met. She probably won’t say the same about me! She’s not doing the show any more. She’s doing her modelling and skincare and she’s going to kill it.

Is it easier that way?

I think so, it gives you both a bit of breathing space. I think the key to success is to make sure you both have your own life and do different things. If you’re doing the same show together, it’s quite hard. We don’t live together, but one day.

Has the age gap between you ever been a problem?

No. I just don’t think it matters.

Look at Leonardo Dicaprio! [The actor is dating model Camila Morrone, 23 years his junior.] Did I just compare myself to Leonardo Dicaprio? I didn’t mean to [laughs]! But age is only a number. As long as you get on, that’s all that matters.

Does hanging around Spencer Matthews, Vogue Williams and Theodore, make you broody? They are so great together! I’m so proud of that boy. I’m so happy for him. He loves his wife and his baby and they’re such a happy little family. Theodore is beautiful as well. If you have a baby like that, you’re chuffed. I don’t know when it will be but I do want a family as well, 100 per cent. I can’t wait for it to happen!

MIC’S Olivia Bentley described the new cast members as ‘very questionable’. How are you getting on with them?

[Laughs] I think they’re good. The new cast have been super nice and fun. Some people possibly see them as a threat. This series is going to be sexy!

Do you give them any advice?

I say: ‘Don’t kiss on camera.’ You’ll look like an idiot [laughs]. But they still do it anyway. Watching yourself kissing is the cringiest thing ever. I just die!

Newbie Angus Findlay said some people are ‘threatened’ by him. Do you feel that way? I don’t think I’m intimidated. The new people are probably more intimidated by the old cast. Coming into a new show is scary – you’re worried about what people think of you.

And Maeva D’ascanio said the old girls are ‘bitchy’…

No more than anyone else is. Anyone who says people are being bitchy probably means they’ve been bitchy themselves as well!

The death of Mike Thalassitis has raised issues about the negative effects of being on reality television. Have you ever found it to be a lonely experience?

It’s a terrible thing that happened. But suicide is the biggest killer of males under 45 in the UK and thank God people are actually speaking about it. It’s important to remember that this is happening in all industries, not just in reality TV. Hopefully, some good will come out of such a terrible thing in that people start paying more attention to the importance of mental health. ‘MADE IN CHELSEA’ IS ON E4 ON MONDAYS AT 9PM.
