This week Theo hit another milestone as I started potty training him. It’s going well so far but there have been a few accidents! It’s all part of it, though. I bought a book by Gina Ford called Potty Training In One Week as we followed her sleep training programme with Theo and it worked really well. I’d also forgotten how to potty train as it’s been three years since Millie did it and she did it so easily. I think it’s okay to admit you don’t quite know what you’re doing and ask for help sometimes. I’ve bought him some potty training pants with monsters and cars on them [far right] to try and make it fun. The kids think it’s hilarious to put them on their head - but only when they’re clean of course! He also has this toy unicorn that he puts a pair of the pants on. We then put the unicorn on the potty [right] and that encourages him to use it. I’ve been praising him when he does it right and giving him a treat, but I think number twos will be a whole different story!

We’re going to Cyprus over the summer so it will be nice if he’s completely out of nappies by then as it makes things a lot easier and

cheaper. It will also mean half our suitcases won’t be taken up by nappies either!

We didn’t make any plans for Mother’s Day as the kids were invited to a friend’s birthday party and we all planned to go along, too. Millie was telling me for a week that she was making me a card. She kept saying: ‘Mum, don’t look! I’m just making your Mother’s Day card.’ As long as I get a card I’m happy, I don’t need any presents.

Pete recently said that we’d been chatting about another baby. I’d say never say never when it comes to a third child, but it’s 100 per cent not happening at the moment as now is not the right time. I’m really busy and I’m focusing on my career. Pete also said he doesn’t want to be changing nappies when he’s 50, but that still gives us a couple of years! In a couple of years, Theo will be going to school so maybe we will then. We’ll just have to see how we feel!
