There was certainly cause for celebration for Idris Elba and his fiancée Sabrina Dhowre as they attended the National Film Awards last week. The actor’s directorial debut Yardie saw him pick up the accolades for both Best Drama and Best Director.

Following his win, he proudly told OK!: ‘It’s exciting. I’m thankful. It’s the first film I have directed, so it was very special to get that much love from the public.’

The couple, dressed in black and white, arrived hand in hand at London’s Porchester Hall. While Sabrina, 29, wore a white Roland Mouret dress, Idris took the opportunity to make a poignant statement. The 46 year old sported a T-shirt emblazoned with the message: ‘Don’t stab your future’ in support of the Faz Amnesty campaign started by concerned father, Faron Paul.

A dad himself to daughter Isan, 17, and son Winston, who turns five this month, from previous relationships, Idris explained to OK!: ‘There’s young people dying. That’s important to everyone. It’s killing kids at an alarming rate.’

‘I am trying to use the platform I have at these wonderful awards to ring the alarm… A lot of celebrities have an amazing platform, so say something,’ he added.

Idris and former Miss Vancouver Sabrina are expected to tie the knot this year, after the DJ got down on one knee last Valentine’s Day. And the Turn Up Charlie star revealed that their wedding plans are coming along ‘fantastically’. And while his bride to be enjoyed a hen party at Utah’s Amangiri resort earlier this month, Idris told

OK! that he too has had his stag do, though the details remain a secret!

Luther fans will also be pleased to hear that the star is keen to reprise his role as the gung-ho detective for a sixth series. He told OK!: ‘I hope so! Luther is a great show and I love playing that character.’

Also in attendance was Tamzin Outhwaite, who looked gorgeous in a snakeskin maxi dress from Topshop. The outing came after the

Eastenders actress revealed she was eradicating ‘wasted emotions’ from her life, just as her former husband Tom Ellis celebrated his upcoming nuptials to fiancée Meaghan Oppenheimer. Alongside a quote from spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle, the 48 year old wrote: ‘All wasted emotions and feelings. They help nothing and nobody. Eradicating them from daily life is the key...’

Tom and Tamzin, who share daughters Florence, ten, and Marnie, five, divorced back in 2014, after Tom reportedly cheated with Lost actress, Emilie de Ravin.

Meanwhile, OK! caught up with former I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out Of Here! star Fleur East, who recently got engaged to partner of nine years Marcel Badiane-robin. She told us: ‘The wedding will be summer time, somewhere abroad.’ She added that all of her jungle campmates are invited. And though the former

X Factor contestant confirms that Simon Cowell won’t be getting an invite to the ‘intimate’ affair, she tells us: ‘I’d love James Arthur to perform.’

Elsewhere, Dancing On Ice star Brian Mcfadden enjoyed a date night with girlfriend Danielle Parkinson.
