CAROLINE WOZNIACKI MARRIES DAVID LEE
TENNIS ACE CAROLINE WOZNIACKI MARRIES BASKETBALL’S DAVID LEE
Fireworks, a gelato cart and an Oscar de la Renta gown were just some of the features of Caroline Wozniacki’s gorgeous Italian wedding. The tennis player wed former basketball player David Lee at Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, watched by 120 of their closest friends and family.
Caroline, 28, teamed her lace embroidered gown with a long tulle veil and Jimmy Choo heels, while her groom, 36, wore a Tom Ford dinner jacket.
The Danish star was walked down the 262ft aisle, which was lined with white roses and blue delphiniums,
by her father Piotr Wozniacki, who is also her coach.
The day was a star-studded affair, with fellow tennis champ Serena Williams acting as one of Caroline’s bridesmaids, while German tennis star Angelique Kerber was also in attendance. Serena was also joined by her husband Alexis Ohanian.
‘I dreamed of [my wedding] my whole life,’ said Caroline as she reflected on the day. ‘So it was really special. It was an incredible weekend. And it was beyond anything I could have hoped for.’
In the evening, David surprised his new bride for their first dance with a performance by Danish pop band Lukas Graham. The trio performed their hit Love Someone before the couple, who met in November 2015 and got engaged two years later, cut their four-tier cake.
The day saw Caroline find her happy ever after in David after her former fiancé, golfer Rory Mcilroy, broke off their engagement just days after their wedding invitations went out in 2014.
She and David rounded off their celebrations with a mini-honeymoon in sunny Portofino, with Caroline now preparing for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in July.
