SMALL CHANGES FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE
OK! COLUMNIST EMILY ANDRE TELLS US HOW SHE’S MAKING HER FAMILY LIFE MORE SUSTAINABLE
Emily Andre, as OK! readers will know, is mum to two little ones aged five and two and a half, which means life can get pretty hectic at times. Like most households with young children, it’s a constant juggling act to balance their needs with her and husband Pete’s work commitments.
Perhaps because family life moves so fast, Emily is more concerned than ever about reducing their impact on the environment. ‘The penny dropped recently when I realised that a few changes now could make all the difference to the world our children will be living in when they grow up,’ she says.
GUILT-FREE BABY WIPES
One easy change that Emily’s made is to switch to eco brand The Cheeky Panda, which makes everything from toilet rolls to baby wipes. The difference is, they’re all sourced from bamboo and not from trees, which means no more destroying the forests just to wipe your baby’s bottom!
‘I’m hooked on the Biodegradable Bamboo Baby Wipes and the Pocket Tissues, they’re both really soft and gentle,’ Emily explains.
Another plus is that, unlike conventional baby wipes, The Cheeky Panda’s are free from micro-plastics, which makes most others nonbiodegradable. Plus, all its packaging is 100 per cent recyclable. No more feeling guilty when you open a pack of wipes!
The Cheeky Panda uses bamboo because it’s the world’s fastest growing plant, if you cut it down, it shoots straight back up again – unlike a tree. And before you ask, no, it’s not the kind of bamboo that pandas eat, so no need to feel guilty!
