The drama may have been on the court, but all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex as they attended the ladies’ singles final at Wimbledon. Putting to bed any rumours of a rift, the royal duo giggled their way through the match and whispered in one another’s ears.

The duchesses were joined in the royal box by Kate’s younger sister Pippa Matthews as they

watched Meghan’s close friend Serena Williams lose out to Simona Halep.

While Meghan dressed in her tennis whites in a white shirt and Hugo Boss skirt, Kate was also clad perfectly for the Championships in a Wimbledon-green Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Revealing Meghan’s support following her loss to Romanian Simona, Serena said Meghan is ‘always positive no matter what’. ‘Just having her in general as a friend is great. She’s such a great friend and a great person as well,’ she said. Serena continued: ‘She’s such a fan of the sport and she too was happy for Simona [Halep]. She saw that she played unbelievable and that’s just the kind of person that she is.’

The following day Kate was back at the All England Lawn Tennis Club with the Duke of Cambridge for the exciting men’s singles final.

But we imagine the royal couple didn’t anticipate they would be watching the longest ever final in Wimbledon history! The thrilling match between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic lasted four hours and 57 minutes.

Congratulating Roger despite his defeat, Kate – who gave a nod to her patronage of Wimbledon by teaming a green and purple bow brooch with her Emilia Wickstead dress – told the Swiss star: ‘You’re incredible.’

Kate was later given a pair of signed trainers from tennis legend Stan Smith for her youngest son Prince Louis, 15 months. The Adidas trainers were embellished with the words ‘To Louis’ on the side.

Meanwhile, Roger recently revealed he has given the couple’s eldest son Prince George tennis lessons. He said of the youngster: ‘At that stage it’s all about just touch the ball, it’s already good. I’m the only player he’s ever met. Then you have a little head start in who is your favourite player! His mum has always enjoyed the tennis.’ Roger is also friends with George’s auntie Pippa, and attended her wedding to James Matthews in 2017.

Also in attendance for the final days of the tournament were Kendall Jenner and Brooklyn Beckham with his girlfriend Hana Cross. The pair matched in beige outfits, with Brooklyn, 20, wearing a three-piece suit from Ralph Lauren. Actor Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter also showed their support, as well as actresses Kate Beckinsale and Lily James, and singer Katherine Jenkins and her husband Andrew Levitas. Both Sophie and Lily looked chic and followed in Kate’s footsteps in outfits from Emilia Wickstead.
