What better way to try and get over the postwedding blues than with a gorgeous honeymoon in Greece? And that’s exactly what newlyweds Cara De La Hoyde-massey and Nathan Massey decided to do! Following their stunning wedding last month, which was exclusively covered by OK!, the former Love Island stars jetted off to the beautiful island of Crete to spend a rare four nights away from their adorable 19-month-old son Freddie-george.

‘It was so nice to just be Cara and Nathan. I can’t remember the last time it was just the two of us, so it was good to have that space,’ Cara tells OK! on their return to the UK. Nathan adds of Freddie, who was being looked after by Cara’s mum and a friend: ‘It did feel very strange spending

time without Freddie. I play with him a lot so I felt a bit stuck, but we didn’t miss the tantrums or pooey nappies!’ He continued: ‘We didn’t want to go too far because of Fred. We kept it short and sweet, just like myself!’

The couple enjoyed their child-free time by indulging in romantic dinners and relaxing in the private swimming pool of their beachfront suite at the Aldemar Royal Mare, a five-star all inclusive resort in Hersonissos. ‘The food was unbelievable, we ate a lot of sushi,’ says Nathan. ‘It was so nice to go out for dinner and not worry about entertaining Fred or taking an ipad,’ adds Cara, who admits she did get a little carried away one night!

‘We went to this lovely beach bar called Buddha Bar. It was really posh and I basically forgot that I can’t drink any more.

I had a couple of glasses of wine and was sick!’ says Cara, 29. ‘It was the first time I’ve ever taken Cara home. It’s usually the other way round!’ laughs Nathan, 27. ‘But it was the perfect honeymoon. We went with Jet2 and they really looked after us and ensured everything went smoothly.’

Over the past few weeks, the pair have spent plenty of time reminiscing about their wedding day, and they say they wouldn’t change a thing. ‘I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding,’ says Nathan of their ceremony on June 28 at the picturesque Preston Court in Canterbury.

‘We watched our wedding video back last week and I had a massive lump in my throat.’ Cara adds: ‘It was the best day. As we didn’t get married abroad, we’ll go away when we renew our vows in ten years and have a day exactly like our wedding.’

And while the pair both had Botox ahead of their wedding, Nathan tells OK! there’s another procedure he’s got his eye on. ‘I have been thinking about getting a hair transplant. I want a fuller hairline, I’m quite conscious of it. I’m going to have a proper look into it because I don’t want to regret it,’ he says. ‘I don’t think he needs it. He’s got such lovely thick hair, but if it makes him happy…’ adds Cara.

She continues: ‘Once I was offered vaginal reconstruction for free at an event. I was thinking, I know I’ve just had a baby but I don’t need that done! Nathan has been asked if he wanted his nose done, too. I’ve had Botox, fillers and we’ve had veneers, but that’s it. There’s a pressure in this industry to look a certain way so you have to be careful and really research things. I think we’ve always been quite sensible about it. Some people are so desperate for perfection.’

Cara and Nathan won Love Island back in 2016, and next week the winners of this year’s series will be announced. ‘I still think Molly-mae [Hague] and Tommy [Fury] will win, but Ovie [Soko] should just win it by himself! Ovie has saved the show,’ Nathan says, adding: ‘There was no one with any personality or banter until he came in. You spend a long time in that villa so you have to make things happen. I used to play pranks on everyone. I used to draw on people’s faces when they were napping and I put cling film on the toilet. One of the girls ended up weeing all over herself!’

Nathan continues of this year’s Islanders: ‘I’m not buying into Maura [Higgins] and Curtis [Pritchard] one bit. I don’t think they’re into each other.’ Cara adds: ‘I can’t put my finger on it but I don’t trust Curtis. I don’t think he’s being himself. It’s cringe when he talks about sex. I think him and Maura say things for a reaction.’

Offering advice to this year’s contestants, the pair say the key to their relationship surviving is trust. ‘I trust Cara with my life. She’s the first partner I’ve had that we could leave each other to go on a night out and we’d have no worries,’ explains Nathan. Cara adds: ‘You’ve got to have a good sex life, too.’

‘Child number two pending!’ laughs Nathan, adding: ‘I think it was all the wedding excitement and being able to have time to ourselves.’ Cara continues: ‘It’s no secret that we had sex in the villa but I don’t think having sex on TV affected our careers. Yes Fred will probably get some grief for it at school and my dad and brother weren’t too happy, but now we’re married with a child – it wasn’t a random, one-off thing!’

Thoughts have definitely turned to expanding their family, with Cara telling OK!: ‘We’d like a big family. We want two close together and then we’ll wait until they’ve gone to school and then have a third. If we have another boy we would try for a third and then hopefully have a girl.’ Nathan adds: ‘I’d be happy with a boy and a girl but if Cara wants a third, I will have a third! I like the name Mila for a girl. Mila Massey sounds like a Hollywood star!’
