THE BECKHAMS LINE THE FRONT ROW AT VICTORIA’S LONDON FASHION WEEK SHOW
AS SHE UNVEILS HER LATEST DESIGNS
David Beckham had a lot of love for his wife Victoria as she unveiled her latest collection at London Fashion Week. The former footballer praised the fashion designer and opened up about being ‘so proud’ of her after watching from the front row alongside their sons Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 17, and Cruz, 14, with eightyear-old daughter Harper sat on his knee next to US Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Among the star-studded guests who turned out to view Victoria’s spring/ summer 2020 presentation at 180 The Strand was Dame Helen Mirren. The actress wore a snake-print dress from Victoria’s pre-fall collection, and the former Spice Girl seemed star-struck by the Oscar winner’s appearance.
Sharing an excited video on her Instagram Stories, Victoria exclaimed: ‘Dame Helen Mirren was at my show! It’s major. I don’t say that very often, but it’s major. I’m honoured that she likes what I do and that she comes to support me.’
Going on to describe the star as ‘the perfect Victoria Beckham woman’, Victoria gushed: ‘I’m a huge fan of her but also she’s a strong, strong, powerful woman and seeing her sitting in the front row, wearing my designs, is the icing on the cake.’
Despite her fan girling, Victoria’s ‘number one guest’ was her little girl Harper. The 45 year old posted a series of behind-the-scenes snaps of her mini fashionista, twirling her round in her floral frock and introducing her to models, captioning one shot: ‘Loving her time backstage!’
The show coincided with Victoria revealing that she teaches Harper to be kind to other girls by sharing her past experiences of bullying. ‘I was
bullied a lot at school, mentally and physically, and the fact that I can talk to Harper about that and how girls should be kind to girls... I use my own experiences,’ she explained.
Later, Victoria hosted an intimate dinner at Mayfair’s Harry’s Bar, where guests included Alexa Chung, Maya Jama, and Romeo’s rumoured girlfriend, model Mia Regan.
Victoria’s Fashion Week triumph marked the climax of a milestone summer for her and David, 44. The couple proved they’re as loved up as ever on their 20th wedding anniversary trip to Paris in July. ‘We talked and laughed the whole time, and not even about the kids or work,’ she said.
