THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE HOST TEEN HEROES AT THEIR KENSINGTON PALACE HOME
THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE INVITE A GROUP OF INSPIRATIONAL TEENS INTO THEIR KENSINGTON PALACE HOME
Few will ever be the recipient of a personal invitation to Kensington Palace. So there were smiles all round as Radio 1’s Teen Heroes visited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their estate. Kate – who looked stylish in a £395 midi dress by LK Bennett – and William praised the youngsters for their inspirational work and dedication to helping others.
The ten finalists were also joined by Radio 1 DJS Greg James and Clara Amfo, as well as singer Camila Cabello for the private event. Breakfast Show host Greg later described the meeting as his ‘absurd highlight of the year’.
The visit marked the fourth consecutive year that the station’s Teen Heroes have been invited to the palace, and the three winners will be crowned at the tenth annual Teen Awards on Sunday November 24 in front of an audience of 14 to 17 year olds.
The duchess has famously dedicated much of her charity work to early development, a particular passion of hers, and will no doubt have been full of encouragement for the group.
In other news, Kate was also praised by royal fans after she was spotted using the selfservice checkouts at Sainsbury’s in Hardwick, Cambridgeshire, where she purchased Halloween costumes for her elder children Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four.
The store is a short journey from the Cambridges’ Anmer Hall residence, where the family spent their half-term holidays. With Charlotte having started school at Thomas’s Battersea alongside George in September, the break will have been a welcome opportunity for the young siblings to spend some time at home with their one-year-old brother, Prince Louis.
William and Kate embarked on a royal tour of Pakistan earlier this month. During the final days of their trip, Kate took to their official Kensington Royal Instagram to share her first personal post. She simply signed off the heartfelt tribute to Lahore’s SOS village with ‘Catherine’.
