MOZZIE SPRAY’S A MUST

NEWLYWED JOEL DOMMETT HAS FOUND A WAY TO AVOID MISSING HIS MODEL WIFE

-

This series of Extra Camp will reunite a ‘bromance’ we saw blossom in the jungle in 2016. After the departure of his co-stars Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash, Joel Dommett will be joined by campmate Adam Thomas, while his Singletown co-star Emily Atack is also getting in on the action. ‘I’m really excited! It feels as if the planets have aligned and we’ve all ended up here,’ says the comedian, 33. Here, Joel, who married model Hannah Cooper-dommett in September, talks jungle injuries and bringing home to the outback…

You presented Singletown with Emily. What’s she like to work with?

She is absolutely incredible – very funny, naturally charismatic; so easy to work with. She comes from a very funny family. I know her mum and dad quite well now.

Are you excited to be back with Adam?

He is the perfect addition – such an amazing ball of energy. When he found out he had got the job he phoned me and it was the best phone conversation I’ve ever had!

What essentials do you pack when travelling to Australia?

Lots of mosquito spray! I got hit on the head with a sign last year, so I’ll take a helmet this time! You need to take tape, too, to tape up the windows and curtains because you have to go to sleep at 2pm.

Do you still work out during filming?

There is a gym close and I go there after the show – it’s the calm after the storm!

Will your wife Hannah be joining you in Australia?

Hopefully! I think she’ll come for the last ten days.

It makes it easier, when you’re away for that long, to have something to look forward to. It’s such an amazing experience you don’t want to be there missing home, so it’s best to bring home to you.
