‘MORE TRIALS? IF I MUST,’ SAYS ADAM THOMAS
Former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas became famous for his extreme fear of spiders during his stint on the show in 2016. The 31 year old finished third behind Joel and winner Scarlett Moffatt, and it’s not lost on him that he’s probably going to be faced with a few Bushtucker Trials when he returns later this month. Here, Adam, who is dad to Teddy, five, and Elsie, one, with his wife Caroline, opens up about his jungle memories, and grabbing opportunities with both hands…
Do you think you, Emily and Joel will get on together?
I hope so – it would be awkward if we didn’t [laughs]. So far, so good! To see Joel again is like going back to the old times.
Are you up for doing the Bushtucker Trials again?
Personally, I don’t want to, but I think that is why I’ve got the job! I think they’re going to get me to test all the trials, which I’m not looking forward to – but it’s all part of the fun! I haven’t missed the Bushtucker Trials or the spiders… pretty much none of it! It was good, but I wouldn’t want to do it again!
What is your favourite memory from your time in the jungle?
Just getting out! It was one of the best days of my life, getting out and seeing my friends and family. But the whole experience, is the best experience and a once in a lifetime. I’m very lucky.
What do you think you’ll bring to the Extra Camp show?
I just hope I do alright and get the job done and have a laugh. I want to do these guys [Joel and Emily] proud because we’re a team now. I didn’t see this job opportunity coming my way, so I had to grab it with both hands and get out there!
