AFTER HINTS OF BAD BLOOD BETWEEN THEM, IT’S A RACE TO THE TOP FOR FORMER ONE DIRECTION BANDMATES LIAM PAYNE AND HARRY STYLES
Former One Direction stars Liam Payne and Harry Styles are set to go head to head as they release solo albums within a week of each other. Liam’s debut album LP1 will hit shelves on December 6, while Harry’s Fine Line will be out the following Friday. The announcement comes as Liam admitted that there were ‘still grudges’ among the former bandmates, who have been on an indefinite hiatus since 2015. He said: ‘We had our differences.
‘I still think about some stuff that was said and done that now I would do differently, but that’s all part of growing up.’
Alongside Liam and Harry, the band’s original lineup was completed by Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. And Liam has now claimed that Zayn failed to say goodbye ahead of leaving the band in March 2015. He revealed: ‘We haven’t really heard from him since he left. He didn’t even say goodbye, if I am being honest. It was a really sordid scenario, from our side certainly. A bit strange. It’s difficult.’
Zayn has since insisted he ‘didn’t make any friends in the band’, despite telling fans he had ‘four friends for life’ when he initially announced his departure.
Liam, who is dad to son Bear, two, with former girlfriend Cheryl Tweedy, has also revealed he’s ‘lucky to be alive’ after life in the spotlight ‘nearly killed him’. Liam’s revelations come as he also compared his recent nude Hugo Boss advert with Stella Maxwell to ‘soft core porn’, admitting ‘there was a lot of tequila involved!’
One Direction first shot to fame on The X Factor back in 2010. After initially auditioning as solo artists, Simon Cowell put them together as a group.
Louis is also set to release his debut solo album Walls in January, while Niall’s second album is expected in the near future.
