When OK! sits down with Gino D’acampo for a glass of bubbles to celebrate the opening of his new restaurant in Birmingham, the celebrity chef is sporting the youthful bandana that his co-stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield found very entertaining during his slot on ITV’S

And while Gino admitted that his wife Jessica has described his new look as a mid-life crisis, the 43 year old says that he’s growing out his hair as a tribute to his late father Ciro, who passed away in 2012.

Congratulations on the opening of your latest restaurant Gino! What does it take to be a chef in one of your kitchens?

Commitment. I don’t require many things from people, as long as they stay on the line. There’s always a reasoning behind my actions.

How are you balancing running your restaurant with family life?

I’m living in Hertfordshire, so I spend a lot of my life travelling. But I can’t complain, there are worse jobs!

You and Gordon Ramsay have spoken on TV about the rumoured romance between your son Luciano and his daughter Tilly… Gordon started the rumours! Tilly and Luciano have known each other for a long time. It would give me great pleasure to know my son is dating Gordon’s daughter. Just to annoy him!
