When OK! turns up to meet Alison Hammond and Kate Lawler, we hear them before we see them. The pair, who have been friends for 17 years after meeting on the third series of Big Brother, are a laugh a minute and can barely catch a breath as they chat.

Alison, 44, and Kate, 39, are at the Vitamin Injections London clinic to get themselves feeling tip-top for the festive season, but they admit they’re feeling a little nervous ahead of the procedure. “I hate needles,” confesses Big Brother

winner Kate, who presents on Virgin Radio and has her own podcast,

Maybe Baby.

“I need a vitamin injection as I’m lacking energy,” says Alison, who has become famed for her hilarious A-list interviews and gaffes on This Morning.

Procedures start at £55 and Alison is first up. She opts for the Baby Face, Pick Me Up and Lipo Blast injections, to speed up metabolism and help weight loss. Kate, who went for the Pick Me Up injection, stands behind Alison for moral support. “I feel like we’re having a baby together,” laughs Alison, who is a WW (formerly Weight Watchers) ambassador.

The star soon tells us that she feels like she’s “going to vomit”! But she says the procedure has left her feeling “amazing”. “It’s not an orgasm but it’s something I couldn’t control!” she adds.

Here, Alison and Kate tell OK! about looking out for their health, Kate’s wedding plans, and who’s been Alison’s favourite interviewee...

Why did you both want to get vitamin injections?

Alison: It’s goodness going into your body so it’s a no brainer really. I’ll definitely be coming back. We’re getting old! I’m trying to choose better options from a health perspective.

Kate: I take eight vitamins a day, but I was thinking there must be an easier way and then I heard of the injections. Bianca, who carried out the procedure, told us that you actually only ingest eight to 10 per cent of vitamins you take orally. My doctor also told me I’m B12 deficient so I wanted to have some B12 shots. If you don’t eat meat, that’s what can happen. I’m pescatarian and I started getting pins and needles in my feet and finger tips, and my neck was numb, so having B12 has really helped.

Could your Big Brother co-star

Adele Roberts win I’m A Celeb?

Alison: She’s doing well but I don’t think Adele will win. She looks like she’s lost a lot of weight. I think Caitlyn [Jenner] will win. I haven’t seen Adele since we left Big Brother and I did GMTV with Kate Garraway!

How are plans for your June wedding [to fiancé Martin] coming along, Kate?

We haven’t sent out the invitations and I haven’t got a dress, but we have a venue. Alison is going to do a reading at my wedding.

Alison: I’m so excited. I’m going to send her the poem I want to read. There is a Bob Marley one I like.

Kate: I can’t believe we’ve been friends for 17 years. We don’t get to see each other much but when we do it’s like no time has passed.

Alison: I have a sixth sense with Kate. I dreamt she was engaged. I text her saying, “Are you engaged?”

Kate: I sent her back a picture of him proposing at the restaurant. I hadn’t told anyone!

What sort of response did you have when you revealed you didn’t want kids, Kate?

It’s been really positive. It made me feel more normal for not wanting children. I went to see a fertility specialist for the next episode of Maybe Baby and she said I was superovulating. She said, “Would it be the worst thing in the world to walk down the aisle pregnant?” I said, “Yes!”

What’s the best thing about being single, Alison?

I love being single. I like having time to do what I want to do. I struggled with the whole date night thing. I could never find the time. I’m too busy. I need someone who can travel with me. I’d love to do Celebs Go Dating. It would be great to have experts organising that side of things.

Who’s been your favourite This

Morning interviewee?

I loved Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hugh Jackman is my best friend. I think I’m doing Clint Eastwood next! I loved Russell Crowe, he sent me a CD of his wife singing. And one of the guys at This Morning told me that when Russell came in he stopped at my photo in the corridor and said, “I love her” and then carried on walking with his entourage.
