BEAUTY BUZZ

1 Splash out

I’m only halfway through my current bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil so I can only think of one valid reason to buy not just one but three more. And that’s the only answer that counts. They’re too beautiful to resist. Nuxe – loved by Eva Mendes (left) and Scarlett Johansson – has poured its dry body and hair oil into a trio of limited edition collectors’ bottles with adorable swimsuit illustrations, £29.50 each. Can I just gaze at them and pass it off as an art investment?

2 Naked truth

For transparency, I should probably tell you I’ve been naked with the creator of this product many times over the years. That’s because he’s Jules Von Hep, A-list spray tan king and now founder of Isle Of Paradise DIY self-tan. His latest product, Face Hyglo Self-tan Serum, £21.95, doesn’t even require any undressing, just a few drops smoothed over your face for the perfect gradual glow. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid as well as avocado, chia seed and coconut oils and it’s honestly the most moisturising face tan I’ve ever found.

3 Flexible friends

Not sure about you but I’m all about stretchy comfort lately. So just as I’ve ditched starchy denim for elasticated jeggings, I’ve swapped clingy liquid lipstick for L’oréal Infallible Matte Lip Crayons, £9.99 each. The 14 shades give that bold matte lip, yet glide on in a forgiving flexi formula that doesn’t crack. Consider it lycra for your lips.

4 Adaptogen agency

Adaptogens are terribly clever things in the herbal world. They lift you up when you’re low and calm you when you’re stressed – rather like an hour of listening to Magic FM. Now they’ve brought their balancing act to the skincare realm in the form of Kiehl’s Vital Skin-strengthening Super Serum, £42, a brand you’ll find in Maya Jama’s beauty cabinet. It builds resilience to all sorts of skin aggro, including lack of sleep, stress and pollution, and promises younger, glowier skin in a month. I can’t promise you’ll ever be able to say the product name three times quickly in a row, though.

5 Wide eyed wonder

When Maybelline launched its “better than a beauty salon lash lift” mascara in January, I never dreamed the professional option was about to be whipped off the table. The Falsies Lash Lift swiftly went on to become the UK’S favourite lockdown mascara (and mine, too), and this week it’s getting a new waterproof sister, £9.99, with that same super-curled effect. I hope it’s not too long before I can whisk it away to a beach.
