STUDENTS ARE BEING PENALISED

It’s been reported that some university students may have to self-isolate before going home for Christmas. For those that are socialising in big groups and breaking the rules, this would make sense, but I think it’s unfair to include those who are practising social distancing and sticking to the rule of six. I know students are living together at university, but to me it’s similar to children going to college or school, particularly boarding schools. It seems like those who are following the rules could be penalised and I don’t think we should make things harder for students than they already are. It’s a big deal to move away from home for the first time, especially during a pandemic, and doing a degree isn’t easy.
