PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN CHAT ABOUT FAMILY LIFE AS HE REVEALS HE HAS HAD HIS EYES OPENED TO RACIAL ISSUES SINCE MEETING HIS WIFE
Prince Harry opened up about his “awakening” to the discrimination suffered by black people since meeting his wife Meghan. In a video interview to mark the start of Black History Month from their £11 million California mansion, the 36-year-old also spoke out in support of dance troupe Diversity’s recent Black Lives Matter themed dance routine on Britain’s Got Talent, which received over 20,000 complaints. He said, “The reality of it is he [Ashley Banjo] and his team of guys put on the most amazing display.”
The couple also called for an end to “structural racism”. They explained, “As long as structural racism exists, there will be generations of young people of colour who do not start their lives with the same equality of opportunity as their white peers.
And for as long as that continues, untapped potential will never get to be realised.”
Shedding some light on family life in the States with their 17-month-old son Archie, Meghan, 39, revealed, “We are doing well. [Archie] is so good. We are very lucky with our little one. He is just so busy, he is all over the place. He keeps us on our toes. We are just so lucky.”
Meanwhile, Sophie Wessex joined husband Prince Edward, 56, for a visit to London’s Vauxhall City Farm as they also marked the start of Black History Month. Sophie, 55, looked in her element as she fed llamas and goats. She and Edward met local schoolchildren who were participating in the farm’s educational programmes, sharing poems and stories about important figures in black history.
