Chrissy Teigen revealed on social media that she and husband John Legend had sadly lost their baby boy following complications with the pregnancy. They named him Jack and shared a series of emotional images on Instagram and Twitter.

My heart breaks for them. My son Archie died minutes after being born in 2009. It’s a horrible pain and I think Chrissy and John are very brave to share their grief so publicly. Hopefully that will help a lot of people who are going through this or who have been through it. I think if I’d spoken sooner about my grief, I would’ve felt stronger. At the time, I felt very alone and almost retreated into myself. Everyone handles grief in their own way. If I could give any advice to any woman going through this, it’s to talk.

When I was in Coronation Street [below left], my character Michelle Connor suffered a stillbirth and I know that storyline helped people. There’s no fix for the pain and Chrissy and John’s grief will never leave them. But it’s something they’ll learn to live with and they’ll always keep the memory of their son alive.
