how to create a reading nook
1
Pick a spot. The corner of a room is an ideal place to start – somewhere quiet, where you can tuck yourself away and not be part of a thoroughfare between rooms in your home.
2 Select your seating. A comfortable chair is a must. Lots of companies sell love seat or cuddler designs. These upholstered styles tend to be larger than a normal armchair, yet smaller than a traditional sofa, and are perfect for curling up in. 3 Consider your storage and be selective. Keep your favourite books to hand in a stylish bookcase. Fill it with titles that inspire you, and ones you’d be happy to read again. But don’t hoard tomes that you’ll never read or haven’t enjoyed – they should be donated to charity or recycled.
4
Light the way. Look after your eyes and invest in a decent reading lamp. The best ones are articulated and can be adjusted to direct the light. 5 Keep it cosy. When you’re sitting still, lost in a good book, your body temperature can drop – even in summer. Keep a soft throw to hand and drape it around yourself if you start to feel chilly.
