‘i’m baking number 2’
Call The Midwife star Helen George and jack ashton share the very exciting news that they are adding to their family
Last week, Helen George shared the lovely news with her fans that she’s expecting baby number two. The actress, who has played nurse Trixie Franklin in the popular TV drama Call The Midwife since 2012, took to Instagram to post a snap of her blossoming bump in a floaty summer dress while basking in the sunshine.
“Baking number 2. Due in December,” she told her followers.
Soon after, the star was inundated with messages of congratulations. Among those to send their well-wishes were her co-stars Leonie Elliott, who plays Lucille Anderson, who wrote “Congratulations Helen!!” and Jennifer Kirby, who played Valerie Dyer, who sent her six heart emojis.
Helen, 37, and her partner Jack Ashton – who is best known for playing vicar Tom Hereward alongside her in the BBC One drama – are already parents to three-year-old daughter Wren Ivy.
They started dating back in 2016 after growing close while filming on location in South Africa. The following year they welcomed their adorable daughter.
Helen had a difficult pregnancy with Wren, delivering her three weeks early, when she developed a serious liver condition called ICP. The disorder causes a build-up of acid in the body and can lead to prematurity or stillbirth.
Shortly after Helen shared her news, Call The Midwife’s official Instagram page re-posted her photo with an excited and gushing announcement. “NEWS!! Call The Midwife star Helen George is expecting her second child. We are THRILLED to tell you that our much-loved Helen George, who plays Trixie, is going to be a mum for the second time!”
The team have been keeping it under wraps, with the post revealing, “People in the production have known for a little while, but we’re all so glad to share the good news with you now!”
Exciting news! Congratulations to you both.
