Last week, Emmerdale’s Danny Miller and Dappy from N-dubz were both reported to have saved lives by talking people down from bridges.

Stories like this reinforce that we are a community and can have faith in others in times of difficulty. But it’s also a stark reminder of how many people are dealing with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. The statistics are particularly high for men and we can’t forget the impact that the last year has had on mental health. As restrictions ease, we need to remember to check in with each other. Just a phone call to ask how someone is can make all the difference.
