Anton steps into Bruno’s judging shoes

Veteran Strictly pro Anton Du Beke will be swapping the dance floor for the judging panel next series as he covers for Bruno tonioli.

Bosses announced last week that Anton, 54, will be filling in for the 65-year-old because coronavirus restrictions mean he cannot fly over from the US, where he is a judge on Dancing With The Stars. Anton, who has been a professional dancer on the BBC show for 17 years, said he was “thrilled to bits”.

He added, “Cloud nine, seventh heaven, over the moon… there’s nowhere better than a seat at that legendary desk! Thank you @bbcstrictly – just the most tremendous news!”
