The stars gave a glittering show on the red carpet for the second week of the cannes film festival on the côte d’azur
It wouldn’t Cannes without a liberal helping of supermodels, and this year’s festival was no exception with Bella Hadid leading the charge on the Croisette red carpet.
The 24-year-old donned a daring dress from Schiaparelli. Designed to look like the branches of a tree, it barely covered her modesty as she ensured all eyes were on her.
Sharon Stone, 63, meanwhile, exuded youthful glamour at the glitzy premiere of The Story Of My Wife. Her powder-blue, flowerembellished tulle gown looked fabulous teamed with her pixie chop. The lead role in The Story Of My Wife is played by Léa Seydoux but she unfortunately had to miss the film festival after testing positive for Covid-19.
Always mixing business and pleasure, Sharon also hosted the annual amfar Gala while she was in the south of France, which supports AIDS research.
Iris Law certainly set tongues wagging at the premiere of Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, showing off
her new platinum blonde buzzcut. The 20-year-old model, daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost, kept the rest of her look simple in a semi-sheer Dior gown. The French Dispatch is already being tipped for Oscars glory in 2022, so it was little wonder the stars flocked to its premiere.
Close pals Timothée Chalamet and Tilda Swinton looked impossibly cool as they held hands at the premiere. Their complementary looks – Tilda’s by Haider Ackermann and Timothée’s by Tom Ford – were the talk of the evening.
Jessica Chastain meanwhile looked gorgeous in a green Valentino gown as she arrived at the Chopard Trophy dinner last week. The 44-year-old star ran into Cannes jury member and fellow actress Maggie Gyllenhaal on the red carpet. The two ladies shared a hug before heading inside the star studded event.
Star of Anne Boleyn Jodie Turner-smith had her inaugural visit to the film festival ruined somewhat when £17,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from her hotel room, including her mother’s priceless wedding ring. The actress tweeted, “Didn’t think I would be spending 2.5 hours in the police station on my final day in Cannes, but here we are.”
Earlier in the festival, Jodie, who has a 15-monthold daughter with Dawson’s Creek actor Joshua Jackson, looked incredible in a feathered ombré gown at the Stillwater screening.

star Kimberley Garner, 30, flashed a lot of leg in a lilac gown with a thigh-high split at the premiere of France.
She was joined on the red carpet by Brooklyn Beckham’s former flame, Hana Cross, 24, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, 27, and model Stella Maxwell, 31. Socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, 44, also walked the red carpet in golden trousers and a feathered jacket.
After last year’s festival was cancelled due to the pandemic, it’s no wonder the stars were out in force, keen to capture a slice of Cannes’ joie de vivre
for themselves!
