KICK-START YOUR SUMMER

With coronavirus currently preventing any socialising or riding for the simple sake of enjoyment – with very good reason – we can’t just fire up our classics and go out for a ride. But the current lockdown does provide us with the ideal opportunity to fully prepare our machinery for the time when we can ride whenever and wherever we please.

We’ve more time to undertake all the checks that an MoT test would cover, even though any vehicle over 40 years of age doesn’t require the yearly test any more. Aside from ensuring that the bike is actually running properly, brakes, tyres, bearings, switchgear and lights should all be checked, serviced and replaced if necessary.

Remember, even though many businesses have closed their doors, with staff on furlough, many classic motorcycle specialists are still dealing via mail order, their phone lines are live and their websites open for business!

Thanks to their efforts, our bikes will then be ready to ride as we turn the corner to enjoy the freedom of the open road once again.
