Bristol Classic Show and Prescott cancelled

-

Although we are very pleased to be – at last! – bringing you news of forthcoming events, we are tempered by the cancellation of two more major shows on the calendar.

The Bristol Classic Bike Show will not be held this year because of Covid-19, although it has been cancelled in a slightly different way to others.

NHS England has extended its contract to use its venue, the Royal Bath and West Showground, as a vaccination centre until the end of August.

With the show having already being moved to July, it has regretfully been decided to cancel this year's event altogether, although it will take place in its usual February slot in 2022, with dates being confirmed later this year.

Elsewhere in the West Country, the Prescott Bike Festival has also been cancelled, with the organisers feeling it would not yet be safe.

New dates of June 25-26 , 2022, have been announced, with all tickets and entries for the ill-fated 2020 and 2021 festivals remaining valid for next year’s event.

As the Prescott Bike Festival is a major fundraising event for the Blood Bike Charities, this is sad news indeed and the decision was not taken lightly. The organisers hope to see everyone back next year to boost the £220,000 raised so far for this vital and valuable charity.
