New from Rex’s Speed Shop in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, is this Dynamo Saver LED headlamp bulb which, due to its extremely low power consumption, is ideal for vehicles with dynamos. Typically, LED headlamps use a fifth of the power required by tungsten or halogen bulbs.

The standard Lucas 6V 24/30W filament bulb consumes around five amps on high beam, while Rex’s Speed Shop’s LED headlamp bulb consumes only 1.1A on full beam (6V). This leaves the dynamo very lightly loaded, allowing owners to keep the original dynamo and have bright lights. This LED headlamp bulb has a projector-type lens, ensuring a good dip and main beam which gives a properly focused beam in any headlamp reflector, even early plain or frosted glass types, ideal for competitions with night sections.
