Seeking AJS 679 NMK

-

Between 1968 and 1969 I owned and rode a black 1962 350cc AJS Model 16 motorcycle, registration 679 NMK. Around October 1969 I sold it to Sergeant Robert Hill, a fellow police house resident in Marylebone, London.

I don’t do computers but in November 2020 my daughter discovered on the internet that the bike still existed. I am now nearly 80 and would love to go almost anywhere to see it for the last time. I cannot trace Bob. I also wrote a very inoffensive letter to the DVLA asking that an enclosed postage paid letter be forwarded to the present owner with my request. It refused, saying that it would be illegal to do so. My feelings on that are beyond comment.

If there is any reader out there who can help find the owner, I would be most grateful. I have already contacted Jampot who had lots of sympathy but couldn’t help. If anyone could help or has any idea, please phone me on 0208 109 1225 or contact OBM, who will pass on messages to me. All help is appreciated.
