Old Bike Mart

Gone missing

-

Unfortunately this month we bring you news of two motorcycles which were stolen earlier this year. On the morning of May 26, Mike Lee’s restored 1955 Ambassador Supreme was stolen from a secure garage. Nothing else was taken, which indicates that it was someone who specifically targeted this bike.

Please keep your eyes open for the bike or, heaven forbid, any parts. The registration number is RGW 634. The frame number is S35513460 and the Villiers engine number is 1H935A4775. It’s grey with lots of new chrome and tyres, but no tank or seat as seen in this photo. If you have any information about the theft, please contact your local police or OBM so we can relay it to Mike.

Meanwhile, after an enjoyable afternoon at Scunthorpe speedway on May 29, taking part in the meeting to commemorate Weslake Engineering, Kevin Hellowell’s speedway bike was stolen from outside his house in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire.

The engine number is K354, an early Mk1 fitted with a Mk2 head, Amal MkII carb, blue spark ignition, gold rims with Talon hubs and blue handlebars.

Kevin adds that, while being ridden at the meeting, the frame loop broke on the bottom rail.

If you have any information at all, please ring Kevin on
