Day trip to the Isle of Man

-

Seeing the photo from the Creg in 1957 bought back some memories as I could well be in the foreground as it was my chosen spot that year.

I was 17 at the time and had travelled to the IoM on one of Motor Cycling magazine’s day

(!) trips it organised every year to see the Senior.

This meant an overnight train from Euston to Liverpool, then the boat over to Ramsey. There was a coach trip round the course, getting off where you liked to see the race, then all the way back to London, arriving Saturday morning. All for a cost as I recall of under £4.

Happy days.
