The excessive oil consumption of the XS750
Myself and a good friend bought new Yamaha XS750s, good bikes but both had their problems.
We regularly did the Isle of Man TT and mainland circuit spectating and, on one trip to the south of France, every second fuel stop required an oil top-up (that was around 400 miles to a pint). Yet we didn’t see any smoke from the bikes!
But I have to say, overall, there was no need for maintenance of the rear chain due to shaft drive. However much we liked these bikes we had to admit that we liked the CB750s we’d had before more.
