Tiger, Tiger, burning bright…
My name is Brian Davis and back in the 1960s I was a reasonable road racer, including a first place in the 350cc race and second place in the 500 race at the 1966 IoM Southern 100.
In 1963 I raced in the Thruxton 500-mile race and my co-rider was William Scott. We rode a 1963 Triumph Tiger 100SS which had a one-off factory finish.
I have recently refurbished a 1963 Tiger 100SS to the same specification as the original and I have sent you some pictures of the original and the bike as it is now.
Picture one is from the race back in 1963. My riding number is 28 and I have just overtaken the two BMWs. In the background is Sid Mizen on a 650 Triumph.
The other two pictures are of the bike as it is now.
