COVENTRY MASCOT
Coventry Mascot was the first firm in the area to use the
Barr and Stroud sleeve-valve engine, albeit for the briefest of times. The company is only on record as having manufactured motorcycles for two years, including a 349cc model in 1922, followed by an option of a 349cc ohv Bradshaw in a Bentley and Draper frame with shock absorbers. Perhaps the world – or certainly the Midlands – wasn’t ready for suspension, for no more motorcycles were made after 1923.
