Who remembers WF Guiver’s shops?
On page 38 of the April OBM you show a picture of WF Guiver on his Ariel during the 1914 London to Edinburgh Run. He was my friend Martin Guiver’s grandfather and went on to own two motorcycle shops, one, I believe, in Hampshire and one in Surrey which was mentioned in a café racer ton-up book when ‘Ginger’ bought a Triumph T110 at a good discount because it had been in stock for some time. Martin recalls his grandmother seated on a stool lacing wheels with great dexterity and speed.
Having read with interest stories of other motorcycle shops in past issues of OBM, I wonder if any of your readers have any anecdotes, reminiscences or tall tales of the shops as all the shop records have disappeared in the mists of time and downsizing and it would make an old man happy to read their experiences.

East Sussex We believe Mr Guiver’s Surrey shop was at 18-24 Rosehill Parade, Sutton, if that helps to jog anyone’s memory.
