Going racing down under

Usually my friend Sam and I work as marshals (breakdown and crash recovery) at the Manfeild circuit, our local race track in New Zealand.

The North/South Island meeting is normally held here in late October but, due to Covid restrictions here it had to be cancelled as most of the NZCMRR (New Zealand Classic Motorcycle Racing Register) administration and riders are from the northern region. Unfortunate, but it is what it is. This was to be my last year marshalling as in 2022 I’d intended going back racing on my 1956 NSU Supermax race bike. Fingers crossed! Podiums? Probably not. Large grin? Absolutely.
