Merlin’s special Gold Star jackets
We’ve already brought you news of the BSA Gold Star but it seems obligatory in the motorcycle world these days that a new model should come with accompanying merchandise. (Some of you may remember, as we do, the 2008 relaunch of Norton at Motorcycle Live at the NEC in which its stand was light on bikes but overwhelmed with just about anything on which the Norton logo could be applied.)
BSA Motorcycles is taking a more measured approach, as demonstrated by these rather classy jackets produced by Merlin to support the launch of the Gold Star. Using its Hixon and Alton jackets, Merlin added embroidered BSA logos on the arms and back of the neck of each. The details of the jackets remain unchanged, with both constructed from naked cowhide leather and backed by removable thermal linings and CE-approved armour to the shoulders and elbows.
