Laundry service
I enjoyed Pete Kelly’s article on sidecars in OBM439. I found these photos in my father’s house after he died, including a photo of a Lily Laundry combination. It was photographed in Workington but Lily Laundry was a Newcastle company – Lakeland Laundry was the main laundry.
The flat tanker is a picture of William Myers, co-founder of Myers and Bowman, engineers in Cumbria, while my father is pictured on what looks like an Ariel while he was in the Army. Then there is my mother on a twin port Ariel. The last photo is of a bike with acetylene lighting and I have no idea who it could be or the make of bike. I enjoy reading OBM every month.
