Machines being weighed in before the start of the Scottish Six Days Trial in 1953. It was won that year by Hugh Viney on an AJS, his fourth and final win in the event. His wins in 1947, ’48 and ’49 gave the former Royal Corps of Signals instructor the first hat-trick in SSDT history (the next rider to achieve the triple win would be Gordon Jackson, also on an AJS, and who had been mentored by Hugh Viney).
