Early photos of Geoff Johnson

I thought you might be interested in these pictures of TT winner Geoff Johnson at the start of his racing career. It was a cold, wet day in the paddock at Croft, Alan (C11G) Graham on the left and me, John, ‘The Mad Mechanic’, with my head inside a Maxton-framed 500 Suzuki with Geoff looking on pensively. We were good friends and I got roped in to help look after his bike. It’s hard to think that this was 47 years ago. Geoff was from Richmond, Yorkshire, and went on to have a great career racing, especially on proper road circuits like the IoM and North West 200.
